Phoenix Rising

The clients' longtime home was lost in an electrical fire in August 2022. Stern worked closely with them and their architect to rebuild with the care and detail of a new custom home. The owners wanted to bring the outdoors inside, particularly the backyard Japanese garden as the main focal point.

Complete custom home rebuild from the ground up. Large expanses of full-height windows and multiple skylights throughout. Interior finishes feature an eclectic mix of wood from different parts of the world the owners have lived. Exterior uses locally milled cedar siding and trim with a tight 4-inch exposure and perfectly mitered outside corners.

Broke ground March 2023, completed December 1, 2023, a nine-month build delivering a deeply personal home reflecting the clients' life experiences and connection to their garden.
